Chincoteague NWR-Yellow-rumped Warbler

Didn't get much time to edit for another post, but I thought I'd give you this image of a winter-plumaged yellow-rumped warbler (Dendroica coronata) as my image for the day.  Huge flocks of these winter warblers were moving in the brush and trees pretty much everywhere you looked.  Hope you have a great one.

  1. Beautiful image! I noticed an exceptionally large number of Yellow-rumped Warblers passing through our area (Chicago) this fall. Very pretty birds.

  3. Thanks Kerri and Julie. Yeah, it was fun tracking them as they flitted from branch to branch. Julie they are everywhere you look on the mid-Atlantic coast during the late fall/winter. Their chip notes become part of the winter soundscape. They are pretty, even in their winter plumage, but stunning in breeding plumage http://bestnatureimages.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Land-Birds/G0000qfC01G2eZ3k/I00009kvqPJEWpYA/P0000jQnCOCBzAz4
