Just a quick image before I head off to bed. A close-up of an adult male blue dasher dragonfly (Pachydiplax longipennis) featuring its gorgeous compound eyes. Males use the bluish-white pruinescence (pigment "bloom" on the cuticle) on the abdomen in territorial displays with other males. This individual was photographed at Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria, VA in late August of last year.
That is a cool photo! I love dragonflies!
