Just a quick post today as I'm still trying to catch up from the reception this weekend (which went well, thanks to those who asked or sent encouragement). Today's image is of hooked mussel (Ischadium recurvum) shells on the beach at Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge in Rock Hall, Maryland. I took this image several winters ago on an exploratory trip to the region. Hooked mussels are a common denizen of the Bay and, according to research conducted 1999-2001, serve as a major food source for wintering seaducks using the Bay, especially scoters.
J'aime beaucoup ce N&B!!Bravo!
