For today's Waders on Wednesday I've grabbed an image that had not yet been uploaded to the webpage. I love photographing the herons that come in to fish the Great Falls of the Potomac River (from either the VA or MD side). When they are hunting they will often stand still enough for a long exposure that blurs the water rushing over the falls, but the heron remains sharp. Usually they come in after sunset, but this particular image was taken instead in the morning just after sunrise. Enjoy, and I'll try to catch up with some more posts this week!
As usual, click on the image to see a larger version and purchasing options.

ReplyDeleteThanks all for the kind comments!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot - very romantic; beautiful mood. Somehow it makes me think of the German painter Caspar David Friedrich.
