A Brief Visit to the Adirondacks

At the beginning of the month I went on a quick family vacation up to the Adirondacks of New York to visit my sister who lives in Lake Placid.  This was a trip to spend time with family, so I unfortunately didn't have much time to photograph the beautiful surrounds, but I did get out one morning while we were there. Based largely on my brother-in-law's recommendation, I decided to hike out to Marcy Dam in the High Peaks Wilderness for sunrise.  I'm glad I did, the hike was beautiful and view from the dam with the reflections of the mountains was spectacular.  Here are two of my favorite images from that morning.

While it was a family visit, I couldn't resist pulling out the camera one day while my sister was riding and my brother-in-law was helping my daughter with her first horse ride in a long time.  Here are a few fun images I took while everyone was out riding.

  1. You got one good looking family!! I want to buy prints of a few of those by the way. It was so fun having you all up...there wasn't enough time to do and show you everything I wanted to!
