Although I had wanted to get to the coast this past weekend, family and school obligations caused me to settle for brief morning trip out to Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria, VA. I had hoped for lots of bird photography opportunities, but although there were some great birds, not many of them were in range. However, when I first arrived in the morning there was a spectacular display of frost-covered late fall foliage. Later on in the day I spent some time with a small group of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) feeding right next to the boardwalk. It was a gorgeous morning and I really didn't want to leave. Hope you enjoy the images!

ReplyDeleteSuperb detail and composition my friend! WOW!
ReplyDeleteLove those frosty leaf tips. The geese are adorable, the beak snuggled in the down is a perfect representation for the chill of November.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for the kind comments all!
