Geese and Frosted Leaves, Must Be November in Virginia

Although I had wanted to get to the coast this past weekend, family and school obligations caused me to settle for brief morning trip out to Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria, VA. I had hoped for lots of bird photography opportunities, but although there were some great birds, not many of them were in range. However, when I first arrived in the morning there was a spectacular display of frost-covered late fall foliage. Later on in the day I spent some time with a small group of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) feeding right next to the boardwalk. It was a gorgeous morning and I really didn't want to leave. Hope you enjoy the images!

  4. Love those frosty leaf tips. The geese are adorable, the beak snuggled in the down is a perfect representation for the chill of November.
